February 17th - Welcome to California! |
We will be picking-up
at San Jose Airport at 2:30pm and will transfer to our initial hotel
located in Carmel on the coast. The
Town of Carmel is a small town endowed with a rich artistic history.
Those riding will setup bikes and will have the opportunity to enjoy a
ride on the scenic 17-mile drive around Pebble beach and through del
Monte Forest. We'll then gather for a welcome toast and dinner.
|
-
February 18th - |
Our initial
day will be off the Tour as we ride south on the very picturesque, Hwy
1 toward Paso Robles. We will not be riding the entire distance, but
you will be able to ride as much of the 100 miles worth of
extraordinary coastline as you wish.

We will be spending tonight and tomorrow night in Paso Robles. |
-
February 19th - |
The peloton
will be coming to us today as we are on site in Paso Robles for the
stage finish. That doesn't mean we'll be static though, and we will
take this opportunity to ride the surrounding area and some of the
vineyards of the 170 wineries in the Paso Robles AVA.
We'll witness the stage finish and have decided to stay in Paso Robles
so that there is some time to mingle with some of the teams who should
be staying in the area. |
 |
-
February 20th - |
This is
undoubtedly one of the most important stages in the 2009 Tour of
California. The individual Tim Trial will loop from and to the
"Danish" capital of America; Solvang!
We will drive out from Paso Robles early this morning and head south.
We'll stop en-route and ride the rest of the way to Solvang where you
will be able to cheer your favorite cyclists on.
After the Jersey ceremony we will keep heading South to the American
Riviera and overnight in Santa Barbara. |
 |
-
February 21st - |
We will be
catching the stage along the course today. The location will be
finalized once the stage details are released. In the morning we will
have the opportunity to ride past the beaches of Malibu to Santa
Monica. Those who wish can add a nice bit of climbing while others can
stay along the coastline for a flatter ride.
Once we have caught up with the race, we'll make our way to our final
destination; Carlsbad. |
 |
 |
-
February 22nd - |
This
final stage is a great day of racing and there really is but one place
to see the race from; Mount Palomar. Of course you will be able to
ride this epic climb as the ride distance from our hotel to the top of
the climb is 50 miles.
Once the race has been by, we will try to rally the arrival to see the
finish and the final Jersey ceremony. |
 |
 |
Those leaving
us today will be taken to San Diego airport. For those staying
overnight we will celebrate the 2009 Tour of California with a final
group dinner. |
